Enrich the free possibilities of the Device Management Service with the Basic Add-on. The first add-on for the Device Management Service offers the possibility to create groups of individual devices, a notification system for the health status of your devices and an application update (currently PLCnext hardware) remotely. But also the firmware update is improved in this add-on and adapted to the needs of our users – now automatic firmware updates can be enabled for certain devices, so you never have to worry about the current firmware and the associated security features again.

With the DMS Basic add-on, production halls can be easily displayed so that you can see at a glance which machine provides which status.
Usable part of the DMS Basic Add-on:
With device grouping and the option of uploading your own images for the individual groups, you can display entire production halls in the Device Management Service. In doing so, the devices in the group can be placed on the image and also moved to the right place using drag-and-drop. You can set up an overall health status of your halls or locations by grouping them.
You want to transfer a finished application to other PLCnext devices quickly and without having to be on site.

In the DMS Basic add-on, you can set up Application Updates to save resources when transferring your applications.
Usable part of the DMS Basic Add-on:
In the new tab “Application Update” in the Device Management Service you can now execute Application Updates. This is executable for all PLCnext devices that can natively connect to Proficloud.io.

In addition to hardware changes that need to be made from time to time, the DMS Basic add-on helps you ensure that the firmware of your installed devices is always up to date – without you having to access it manually. A short setup is all it takes. So you don’t have to worry about outdated firmware becoming a security risk.

In the tab “Firmware Update” it is possible to set up the automatic firmware update for each device. Define marginal parameters, such as when such an update should be executed and set the time for it to a time when you do not have to worry about production downtimes or the like.

Use device groups to create more transparency in your company.
Use the device groups in the DMS Basic add-on to create a better overview for different device groups. For example, group all devices in a production hall or all solar panels in a solar park so that you can quickly and easily see which device has which health status. With the additional option of storing your own plan (as an image) in a device group and freely distributing the devices on it, you create easily accessible knowledge from which you, your company or your partners can benefit.
Get notified directly when changes occur – even outside Proficloud.io
Enrich the free capabilities of the Device Management Service with the Basic Add-on. The health status of the devices is displayed “out of the box” in the Device Management Service, which was already a big leap forward in terms of transparency – now you can additionally set up alerts and send device status changes via email to different recipients. Create transparency beyond the boundaries of Proficloud.io and benefit from the new features offered by the DMS Basic add-on.
Application Updates remotely.
What has already been working for some time in the Device Management Service is taken further in the DMS Basic Add-on – in addition to the firmware update from a distance, there is now also the possibility for PLCnext devices to install an application update from a distance. Save yourself the on-site inspection of systems just to install new applications on the devices and plan and execute these processes comfortably and securely from your desk.

Group your devices into device groups e.g. in a company building and create more transparency than ever before.
Group individual devices in the Device Management Service to increase the value of the Device Management Service for you. You can add additional information to each group such as tags, locations and a description. A core element of the groups is the possibility to add a picture on which you can freely place the devices of the group. The health state of the group changes based on the critical health states of your individual devices.
Remotely upload application updates to your PLCnext devices easily and effectively.
Create your application and upload it to identical PLCnext targets via Proficloud.io with the Application Update of the DMS Basic add-on. The update follows the same principles as the firmware update, so that only authorized employees can perform application updates and in case of an error the previous application is restored.
Receive email notifications when a device’s health status changes – customized to you and your scenarios.
Use the alerting feature of the DMS Basic add-on to send information about a device status change to colleagues, employees or partners outside the company. Create multiple rules for individual devices that are triggered immediately when a status change occurs. The triggering state as well as the recipient can be set in a rule.
Never worry about outdated firmware again with the new automatic firmware update feature.
In the DMS Basic add-on, you can set up automatic firmware updates for individual devices. For security reasons, these firmware updates are only started when the device is in a stop state. In this way, the firmware of your devices always remains up to date, even without manual intervention.
